Goal of task
We have analyzed traffic sources and realized that some of them create more sales than others.
The goal of this task is to:
- Identify interesting traffic sources
- Why they drive sales
- How we could get them to generated traffic for the Kumikata Bible again
Implementation
Identifying interesting traffic sources
As we didn’t have a sales funnel set up prior to the big sales numbers after the Kumikata Bible was published, we can only make a few assumptions from our experience in the past:
- Whenever a publication was made on a Judo website, a few sales were made
- The following screen shot from the previous article gives an indication of how Judo websites can generate sales:

- Sensei Agallina’s Blog alone generated 3 sales directly from his own site which is truly remarkable
- The Google Ad campaign brought a lot of traffic, but generated no sales
Why do they drive sales?
We can only make assumptions, but the reasons might be:
- People interested in the subject visit these sites
- People visiting these sites trust the author of the site. If he talks about KKB they will assume that there is some value in the product and thus are more likely to purchase it
How to get them to generate traffic
Why are they happy to public content about KKB?
Here also we can only assume:
- They need interesting content for their audience
- If they like your work they will write about it
- If your content is easy to integrate on their site, they are more likely to write about it
How to improve chances of referrals
Yet again some assumptions:
- Make content appealing
- Make is easy to integrate for them
- Refer back to their site from yours
- Deliver them regular content for their site
How to create a long term relationship with them
Today we’re assuming that our assumptions might be right:
- Promise and deliver great content over a long period of time
- Generate interest and traffic for their sites
Results / Learnings
- Judo specific websites are probably the only reliable source of conversions
- If we can create valuable content for them over a long period of time, we could generate long term traffic on our own site

- Identify great Judo websites that are likely to talk about our content
- Define content to provide to these sites
